Rest & Renewal

Rest is not a luxury.
It is how we return home.

Rest & Renewal is a space for healing, reconnection and coming home to yourself. Trauma-informed retreats in Montezuma, Costa Rica, guided by Lisa Wheeler and Monti Pal.

Why we do this

An antidote to the pace

We live in a world that asks us to do more, move faster, and carry more than we were ever meant to hold. Many people are exhausted, and not just physically. They have lost touch with themselves beneath the weight of responsibility and constant productivity.

Our retreats are created as an antidote to that pace. We provide spaces where people can slow down, exhale, and remember what it feels like to just be. There is no focus on fixing, achieving or pushing through. Healing begins when we feel safe enough to rest, and supported enough to be seen.

This is an experience of inner connection and human connection at once. Quiet reflection and shared experience let you reconnect with yourself, while discovering the quiet power of being witnessed by others.

You will leave not only restored, but with a stronger sense of home within yourself. Something you can carry back into your life.

Is this for you?

You do not need to have the answers

You simply need to arrive with curiosity, and a willingness to meet yourself exactly where you are.

Open to all ages, and inclusive of women, men, LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent participants. Most of the people who join us are between 35 and 65.

  • You are craving a deeper connection with yourself and want to come home to who you truly are.
  • You feel burnt out, emotionally overwhelmed, or exhausted by the pace and pressures of everyday life.
  • You are ready to slow down, reflect, and create space for healing and self-discovery.
  • You are open to personal growth through gentle exploration rather than intense breakthrough experiences.
  • You are looking for human connection and a sense of belonging.
  • You are comfortable in a supportive group where listening, vulnerability and mutual respect are valued.

Sometimes the most radical thing you can do is rest.

Registration for The Home Within is open. If you would rather talk it through first, we would genuinely like to hear from you.
